What it does

For a business that is really four businesses.

Plenty of regional businesses are legally one group and operationally four: something grown, something processed, something carted, something traded. Each half-runs on its own spreadsheet, the group P&L is assembled by hand once a quarter, and nobody can say what the farm actually charged the mill.

Brolga runs the group as a group. Spend goes through an approval spine with per-person limits and budget caps; purchase orders match invoices within a tolerance; stock has a real ledger and stocktake variance; cash is projected forward against the overdraft facility so the season’s low point is a number rather than a feeling; and the enterprise P&L handles inter-entity trade on more than one transfer-pricing basis.

  • Procure-to-pay with real limits — per-person approval limits and budget caps, not an honour system
  • PO ↔ invoice matching — within a tolerance you set, so the exceptions are the only thing you look at
  • Stock ledger and stocktake variance — what should be there, what is, and the gap named
  • Forward cash projection — the season’s low point against the facility, before you get there
  • Enterprise P&L — per-enterprise results with multi-basis internal transfer pricing
  • Inter-entity trade — the farm selling to the mill, priced and recorded rather than assumed
Change the basis the entities charge each other on and the margin moves between them — the group total doesn’t. Brolga runs all three bases side by side and shows the arithmetic, rather than asking you to trust it. It is a management consolidation, not statutory accounts.
